Ways to help

Volunteer

Because of the sensitive nature of our work, most volunteer positions do involve significant training. We ask that volunteers who complete the training commit to 4-6 hours weekly of volunteer time for a minimum of 6 months. It is our volunteer corps that is responsible for answering our hotline 24/7, as well as responding to victims at the hospital. Volunteers also assist with representing The Rape Crisis Center at outreach and community events and help out in our office.

How you help While this job is not for everyone, those who do volunteer with us feel a profound sense of pride and satisfaction in what they do, knowing that they are providing a service to someone who is at such a challenging and vulnerable time in their life.
About us Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), The Rape Crisis Center (RCC) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual assault. Currently, The RCC serves all of Clark County, Nevada. Our focus on supporting victims in the immediate aftermath and long-term recovery following sexual abuse and assault is unwavering.
